About a year ago we were sitting in the living room when the lights
went out. After some trouble shooting we determined the
problem was behind a wall in the kitchen. When we broke into the
wall we found a nightmare. There was a junction box with three
wirenuts each containing about 4-6 wires. For those not farmiliar
with wire nuts they are designed to hold two or three wires
maximum. I rewired them but not well enough. last week we lost
power to three outlets and as I feared the problem was the faulty
wiring behind the kitchen wall. When I touched the original 1954
wires the insulation fell off the wires. We replaced most of the
existing wires, ran new wires to the three outlets, and replaced
the outlets. For now the problem seems fixed!!!!!
