We have a rental house in Lancaster and rent it to our friend Mike. We received a
phone call from Mike letting us know Quartz Hill Water District came to his door
and let him know he had never seen a water meter spin as fast as ours was. The
water guy indicated we might have a leak and should check out the property.
The house is on over an Acre of property with a large metal building behind the
main house. Mike went behind the metal building and found a swamp that would
put Florida to shame. At first I was concerned "Reggie" the alligator may be
lurking but it was safe. Just very wet
Mike was able to locate the broken pipe and fix it. It appears the first frost bit a
little harder than we expected. A special thank you to Mike for saving me a trip up
to Lancaster.
We waited with baited breath for the Water Bill to arrive. It was not long before
the bill came and we opened it.

We called Quartz Hill Water District to see if they would at least give us a lower
rate per unit to help. When the employee stopped laughing (not really) and
returned to the phone she informed me there was nothing they could do!!!!!
