Update 12/18/2005
Hi again everyone….
It is Sunday evening and am soooo happy to say “we are home with Summer”! The dr. released her
around 5:00pm this evening. She is doing really good. Summer is smiling, giggling and we were only
sent home with one medication that she will be weaned off of soon. She has wonderful color and also
seems very happy to be home. We are truly blessed and it will be a great holiday. Again I want to say
thank you for all of your prayers for Summer and our family. We will keep you updated on how she
starts growing.
Love, Dianna
Update 12/17/2005
Just wanted to let everyone know that Summer is doing really good. The surgeon said that we will be
able to bring Summer home on Monday. She has already gained a little over a pound and is at 12
pounds plus, she cut her first tooth last night! We want to thank everyone for all of your prayers and
thoughts for Summer and our family. We can’t express into words how much it means to us. We are so
happy that she is doing so well and going to be home on Monday. I know that all of the prayers helped
to see her and us through all of this.
I will update again soon.
Love, Dianna
Update 12/15/2005
Summer is out of surgery and off the heart and lung machine. The Surgeon found a third hole and was
able to repair all three holes. She is still recovering but so far seems to be doing well.
Update 12/14/2005
Summer goes in for surgery on Thursday, December 15
Update 12/08/2005
The cardiologist says he doesn't want to wait until after January to operate because Summer is not
doing as well as they had hoped. They had to put her on another heart medication today. She will have
an echo cardiogram and an ultrasound on December 9 and she sees the surgeon on December 12. So
the surgery will be soon after that.
Update 11/30/2005
I am emailing to keep all up to date on what is going on with Summer. Mike spoke with the surgeons
office today and they have Summer scheduled to have her open heart surgery on January 11th, 2006.
We do not have any other details yet. We hope to have more info on Tuesday. The cardiologists office
told me that this was the soonest they could “squeeze” her in. So, Summer will be home with us for
Christmas and we will hopefully start our new year with her getting better. Thank you all for your
thoughts and prayers. We appreciate it more then we can put into words.
I will write again soon when I have more and updated information.
